Cauliflower And Ham Tart Recipe



A lovely combination of cauliflower and cheese make sure you pick the freshest cauliflower around.

Ingredients:

For The Tart:
* 1 broken dough
* 1500g cauliflower (frozen)
* 4 eggs
* 4 slices of cooked ham
* 150g grated Gruyère cheese

For Bechamel:
* 30g butter
* 30g flour
* 25cl of milk
* 2 pinches of nutmeg
* Salt pepper

Method:

* Preheat the oven to 180 ° C(Gas mark 6).

* Place the dough in the pie plate. Reserve in the refrigerator.

* Wash and cut the cauliflower into small florets. Immerse them in boiling salted water for 20 min. Drain.

* Prepare Bechamel.

* In a saucepan, melt the butter and add the flour.

* Mix for 1 minute. Pour milk in one stroke while mixing. Cook on low heat until the béchamel thickens.

* Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

* Prepare the pie: Break the eggs and separate the whites from the yolks.

* In a bowl, put the cauliflower florets and mash them with a fork.

* Add the egg yolks, then the béchamel detailed ham into small pieces. Salt and pepper.

* Beat the egg whites until stiff. Incorporate them gently into the preparation.

* Pour onto the pastry, sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for 40 minutes.
